I am one of those children’s illustrators whose picture books teach children important things. This project is about one important thing.
Many children’s illustrators are trying to say something with the help of their illustrations. They teach something with their illustrations. There are a huge number of topics that should be discussed with your child around. But there is one that interested me the most. I tried to reveal it in this project. This is the topic of greed.
Most children find it difficult to part with their toys. And they do not want to share them in any way. Probably, every parent had to blush on the playground. Maybe at a party when their child screamed: “This is mine! I won’t give it to you!” It is not surprising that in the future, those kids who show greed, have difficulties in acquiring friends. The guys from the yard or from the kindergarten will not leave this fact without attention. There are many offensive teasers about greedy people.
At the same time, open-minded children who easily share toys quickly make friends. Those who share treat others can even become the soul of the company.
Each of us is a small part of a huge world. In order to create something incredible, people unite. It’s not for nothing that they say “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” When you are sociable and friendly and know how to share, you become better. I am sure that the more we give, the more we get back.
It is very sad to observe a situation when a little kid plays alone. And the task of adults is to help children form concepts of generosity and friendship from an early age.
“Greedy Oliver” is my attempt to help children. I`m one of those children’s illustrators whose books have a special meaning. And I wanted to show children the need to develop empathy for others. This is my attempt to show how important it is to be friends. This is one of those children’s books that is equally suitable for reading at any age because the problem of greed is not only a problem for little ones.
I really hope that my role as one of those children’s illustrators whose books teach something well and help to understand important moments in life is fulfilled in this project.
